Concept Masterplan for the University’s Sandy Bay campus
With the relocation of its southern campus to the Hobart CBD, the University of Tasmania has released its detailed concept plans for the redevelopment of its current Sandy Bay campus – Reimagine Sandy Bay.
The Concept Masterplan proposes that the campus be divided into five major parts: lifestyle and sporting, an innovation and civic quarter, a learning precinct, a peri‑urban neighbourhood, bushland reserve and a tourism precinct and residential area on Mount Nelson.
The draft plan is available for public feedback, to help the University understand if it meets community desires and expectations for the site.
This work is being led by UTAS Property Pty Ltd, a wholly owned subsidiary of the University of Tasmania created to manage the transformation of the Sandy Bay and Newnham campuses.
More information, including an online survey and the Concept Masterplan, is available on the Reimagine Sandy Bay website.
